After spending some time pricing things out, I've decided on the final finishes for our bathroom remodel! Stylish design shouldn't have to break the bank, and that was the goal with this project. However, we quickly realized that our initial $2000 budget wasn't going to cut it, so we upped it to $3000, give or take a couple hundred. It's still significantly cheaper than the $10-15,000 we'd pay to have the entire project contracted out, and it will be well worth the investment when we decide to sell! We're doing all of the work ourselves other refinishing the tub, so that's saving us a significant amount of money. Here's the breakdown of what we chose and the prices for each finish!
Wall tile: Home Depot , $2.79/sqft, $200 total (72 sqft)
Floor tile: Home Depot $3.99/sqft, $200 total (50 sqft)
Grout: Home Depot, $14.87 ea X 2= $29.74
Beadboard: Home Depot, $20 ea X7= $140
Shower/tub faucet and drain: Amazon , $173.50 (+drain and valve)= $243
Vanity light: Wayfair, $100
Vanity: Wayfair, $673
Toilet: $200 budget
Mirror: $100 budget (hoping to find something similar to this)
Towel hooks: Amazon, $14 X2= $28
Toilet Paper holder: Amazon, $18
Hand towel holder: Amazon, $28
Vanity knobs: CB2, $4.95 ea X4= $20
Shower Rod: Amazon, $35
Professional Tub refinishing: $450
Vintage rug (similar to pictured): $100 budget
Additional costs: tile backerboard, drywall, trim, outlets/light switches, exhaust fan, plumbing & electrical supplies, vent cover, drywall mud/tape, closet shelving, shower curtain, decor: (roughly) $500
If every single thing goes as planned and every penny of that budget is spent, we'll spend a little over $3000. I'm already planning of ways to save, however: there are money saving gift cards to Wayfair (buy a $100 GC for $90), our credit card offers 5% cash back on Amazon purchases and 5% off at CB2, I will shop Homegoods and other shops for discounted decor, we will try and make the shelves for the closet using dimensional lumber we already own, and I'll watch prices on Wayfair and other sites to make sure we get the cheapest price for the items we buy.
Putting this all together has made me very excited to get started with demo! April, here we come!
